Budget Cuts:Ensuring our coast comes first
The budget cuts recommended by the Trump Administration will be devastating to Georgia’s coastal communities. The 2018 “skinny budget” drastically cuts many programs that support a high quality of life for coastal Georgians. Many of coastal Georgia community leaders and businesses depend on information and partnerships with the federal government for protection from extreme weather and our economy.
It is the beginning of a complicated process during which the administration will work with members of Congress and federal agencies to negotiate where US funds will be allocated. Already, over 300 Georgia citizens have asked their Congressmen to uphold federal funding needed for the programs that protect the people jobs and environment of our Georgia coast. As the process progresses we will update the website to keep everyone informed, and encourage specific actions to protect coastal Georgia communities!
