Catherine Ridley:Vice President of Development and Communications
Catherine brings more than 18 years of experience in the environmental nonprofit sector, including work as an educator, writer, researcher, and fundraiser. She first began her career as an environmental educator for the Louisiana Nature Center; today, she continues her work with nonformal education as a Writing Fellow and middle school mentor at Savannah’s Deep Writing Center. She is also the Program Administrator for the Advanced Training for Environmental Education in Georgia (ATEEG) certification program.
Catherine worked in sea turtle conservation for more than seven years and helped to start the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island. She is currently the project leader for the sea turtle project on St. Simons Island, where she now lives.
In addition to her work on Georgia’s coast, Catherine has held senior leadership positions at five environmental nonprofits. Catherine returned to coastal Georgia in 2014 after working as a fundraiser and grants manager for women’s health programs in Massachusetts. She is an avid reader, writer, hiker, and peach enthusiast.
