Conference Schedule:Saturday and Sunday, January 13-14, 2018
Thanks to your feedback from last year’s inaugural event, we’ve expanded Choosing to Lead to feature two days! Join us Saturday at the Jekyll Island Convention Center for interactive workshops, coastal advocacy training, and inspirational speakers across five interactive tracks. On Sunday, we’ll go behind the scenes at nearby coastal destinations and put our new knowledge into action with NEW half-day field trips!
Friday Night: Network! Let’s kick off Choosing to Lead with some fun! Join us the night before the conference to network and get to know your fellow participants. Look for One Hundred Miles staff and committee at the Hampton Inn and Suites lounge at 7 pm. Good company and engaging conversation provided.

Sunday: Take Action!
Each field trip will be held from 9:00-12:00 at nearby locations on Jekyll, St. Simons, and Brunswick. Participants will provide their own transportation. These half-day field experiences will have a unique “Choosing to Lead” twist: in addition to touring local conservation sites, attendees will work with other conference-goers to plan projects for their communities.

9:00-10:30 Behind-the-Scenes Tour
10:30-12:00 Issues discussion and small group action planning
During registration, choose the field trip that most closely aligns with your volunteer interests. Facilitators will be on hand to lead a discussion on community needs for each program area and will help participants develop projects for:

Community Leadership | Historic Preservation – Harrington School
Environmental Education | Faith & Spirituality – Honey Creek Episcopal Retreat Center
Student Leadership Projects – Tidelands Nature Center
VOLUNTEER AT OUR CONFERENCE: Help us make Choosing to Lead (CTL) a success by donating your time as a CTL volunteer!
